You don’t know me, but I’m pretty sure I know you. Do you check The RealReal religiously, every day, twice a day? Is your “Obsessions” page a secret window to your soul? Have you scrolled through so many pages of old Celine that you can correctly identify the Michael Kors era with just one glance? Same. This is not my day job, but it’s still what consumes me and, I’m assuming, what consumes you, too. We’ve probably run into each other at 10am ET on the “Editor’s Picks” page, frantically trying to add that one Alaïa Teckel bag to our carts. Maybe I’ve put something on hold seconds before you. We might even own each other’s clothes. Love it or hate it, The RealReal connects us, and this newsletter is meant to be a space for us to obsess together. Some people study the stock market; you study the resale market. We can swap links for barn jackets that don’t cost $4,900 dollars. We can discuss creative director musical chairs: Should we be buying up Chanel? Bottega? Margiela? What about Bally and FFORME? We can spot patterns, like which brands clearly had a recent sample sale. And if I find something on one of my late-night deep dives that I can’t fit into or afford but is too good to pass up, obviously, I’ll let you know. Here, we can share our TRR secrets.
